Petry graduated the master’s program “Writing for TV and Film”, studied film direction at the New York Film Academy in New York and has a bachelor’s degree in communications studies. Seeking additional qualification, he was part of several courses and workshops about creative writing, cinematography and screenwriting. For over 10 years Petry has directed and written many short films, music videos, TV shows and numerous advertising films. As a screenwriter, he is the author of three unproduced feature films and is currently developing a TV series project.
 

Ever since 2012, Petry has also been working as a director of advertising films, having worked on national and international campaigns for brands such as McDonald's, Uber, Volkswagen, Vivo, Unilever, Burger King, Sony and Claro. His work has been awarded at some of the most prestigious awards in advertising: Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, Wave, D&AD, among others. He was director, partner and founder of the production company Guts and Films, director represented by the Argentine production company Rebolucion Films and is currently represented for the Brazilian advertising market by Sentimental Filme
